Ankle braces and supports have been shown to help in the reduction of sprained ankles in various research studies. The ankle sprain injury is one of the most common sports injuries there is. An ankle support works by giving restraint and enhancing the action of the ankle ligaments. Some of the ligaments in the ankle include the anterior talofibula ligament, the calcaneofibula ligament, the deltoid ligament, the tolonavicular ligament and the posterior talofibula ligament. Wearing an ankle support or brace reduces the chances of suffering from a twisted ankle or rolling an ankle. Our simple range of ankle supports are lightweight and offer low levels of compression and support, such as our neoprene and fabric supports. They are suitable for light sprains and are useful supports for running or when returning to sport after injury. Our Laced support is more suitable for football, netball and other sports where higher levels of support are required. The level of compression and support can be adjusted using the laces to suit the individual’s preference. |
